| FCI delivering public food to private mills? | | | Early Times report
Jammu, Apr 24- Crime Branch, Jammu on a reliable information that ration meant for supply to people living below poverty line in Kashmir is being misappropriated by official of Food Corporation of India in connivance with will owners and transporters with criminal intention causing thereby wrongful loss to Government exchequer registered a case. A team of Officials under the supervision of SSP Crime Branch, Jammu conducted a raid in R.S. Pura, Bishnah and Raya More etc. and during raids at ‘Hari Rice Mill’ situated at Trore near Adarsh College of Education, District. Samba, it was found that two trucks of FCI BPL Ration with challans for Kupwara, Kashmir were unloaded in the premises of the Mill and one truck bearing Registration No. JK02-9435 was under the process of unloading. In this way total of 28 Tons of Rice was seized on the spot and the driver of the vehicle namely Raj Kumar son of Sampooran Singh of Kothi Kord, R.S. Pura has been arrested. The investigation of the case is going on to un-earth the nexus of misappropriation of BPL Ration by the miscreants.
