Early Times Report SAMBA, June 9: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra Samba under the aegis of SKUAST Jammu, continued its impactful outreach under the ongoing Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan. These programmes are being conducted under the stewardship of Prof. B.N Tripathi Vice Chancellor SKUAST Jammu and under the able guidance of Dr. Amrish Vaid Director Extension SKUAST Jammu. The abhiyan is being carried out under the direct supervision of Prof Sanjay Khajuria, District Nodal Officer and Dr. Rakesh Khajuria Joint Nodal Officer VKSA, Samba actively participated. On nineth day of the campaign, awareness programmes and farmer engagement activities were conducted in three remote villages namely Hurduliyan, Sodam and Samotha in Block Nud of District Samba. During the interaction with the farming community of these villages, the experts from KVK, SKUAST J, as well as experts from allied departments- guided the farmers on latest agricultural innovations and stressed on efficient agricultural practices for more farm returns. They also guided participants on natural farming and discussed on soil health management. He guided farmers on commercial farming and elaborated scientific farming of various Kharif season crops. They suggested the farmers on the good farm management practices and stressed on Integrated Nutrients Management in various crops, on climate resilient agriculture and stressed on new agricultural innovations for more farm income. Officers/Officials from Department of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Sheep Husbandry of district Samba discussed in detail with the farmers about different agricultural schemes such as HADP, PM-KISAN, KCC, PMFBY etc. and encouraged them to take advantage of such schemes to enhance their crops productivity and income. They stressed on diversification in agriculture for more farm returns. Similar, programmes/camps were also successfully organised in villages Chack lala, Sujana and Jarain under Block Rajpura and villages Tapyal, Ghagwal and Raghuchack under Block Ghagwal. These programmes receiving overwhelming response from the farming community.
