| ABVP holds patriotic songs competition | | |

A group song competition of patriotic songs was held today at Govt Boys Higher Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar. Gandhi Nagar and Swami Vivekananda branches of Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) jointly organized the competition. Jt. Director, J&K Information, S K Sharma was the chief guest whereas; Bansi Lal Gupta, Corporator Gandhi Nagar was the guest of honour on the occasion.
The competition was divided into two categories Sanskrit group song and Hindi group song. Students from 12 schools took part in today’s competition. The team of Guru Harkishan School was declared first in the Hindi category whereas; S D Tara Puri School was declared first in Sanskrit category. S K Sharma and Bansi Lal Gupta awarded the winner and runner up teams.
Speaking on the occasion, Bansi Lal expressed happiness over the enthusiasm among the students while participating in the competition. He also appreciated the role of BVP in promoting culture and patriotism through such competition. He also congratulated the winning teams and praised other participants also. The winner of today’s competition will participate in state level competition to be organized on 7th October at Women College Gandhi Nagar. |
