Early Times Report
RAMNAGAR, June 10: As part of the ongoing week-long celebrations to mark World Environment Day, Government Degree College Ramnagar today organized seminar on the theme "Environment and Health" under the patronage of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal.
A total of seven students participated in the programme and shared their ideas on the topic. The students address various environmental hazards including air pollution, water pollution, climate change and exposure to toxic chemicals. The students also focused on various diseases of environmental origin and suggested means and ways to minimize such diseases.
On this occasion, Principal of the college said, "There is a need for a comprehensive policy and whole society approach to combat the environmental issues. The solutions are available but we need stronger and more concerned action by the concerned agencies to rethink how we live, work, produce, consume and dispose of wastes to make our environment clean and people friendly. Clean air, safe water and stable climates are crucial for preventing diseases and promoting good health."
The programme was attended by several faculty members, including Dr. Puyesh Kant Sharma, Prof. Parminder Kumar, Prof. Sanjay Malhotra and others, who applauded the students' engagement and stressed the importance of environmental awareness in academic spaces. The event reaffirmed the college's commitment to promoting environmental education and sustainability.
