Certificate Course in Theatre at University of Jammu

JAMMU, June 10: With the noble mission to offer a platform where students can sharpen their creative skills and transform their personalities to become a better version of themselves, Skill Development & Career Planning Vertical (SDCPV) of Skill Incubation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (SIIEDC) in collaboration with the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu is offering a well-structured 30-Day Certificate Course in Theatre in synchronization with the inclusive vision for education of Prof Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, Jammu University.
The course is being conducted under the supervision of Prof Alka Sharma, Director, SIIEDC and Prof. Garima Gupta, coordinator SDCPV and being coordinated by Mr. Sumeet Sharma, Drama Instructor, DSW who is also a National Awardee in Theatre Direction. Besides this, experts in the field of theatre and personality development would mentor the participants.
The efficacy of the course can be ascertained from the heartening feedback received from the participants of the previous session who vociferously advocate its success in making them explore their self and surroundings and not just understand their innate capabilities but to use it effectively. The course is designed to provide a fertile ambience and immersive experience to the participants where their creativity flourishes and confidence nourishes and in addition to attaining the acting skills, they involuntarily imbibe the soft-skills like effective communication & public speaking, understanding of body language, controlling emotions & expressions, confidence, spontaneity, team-spirit and more.
Minimum qualification for registration is 12th pass. The course will commence from 20th June 2025 at University of Jammu and registration is open till 18th June 2025. As there are limited seats, the admission would be based on prior screening if required.
