Early Times Report JAMMU, June 10: Mahatma Sant Ram B.A Education Mission Jammu (MSREM) felicitated Jagriti Sangotra, daughter of Ravi Kumar and Renu Kumari of Gorkh Nagar, Bahu Fort, Jammu, for her outstanding achievement of winning the gold medal at the 17th National Kalarippayattu Championship held in Kerala. The felicitation ceremony was graced by F.C. Satia, Convenor MSREM and State President of All India Backward Classes Federation, along with Er. Manga Ram, Er. G.R. Dafara, Dr. Nek Ram, and Sham Lal Basson, Ex-Councillor, who presented bouquets, a trophy, and books to Ms. Jagriti Sangotra in recognition of her exemplary accomplishment. He highlighted her exceptional performance in the Senior Girls Kaipporu event (60-70 kg category), where she won six consecutive fights, demonstrating remarkable courage, endurance, and martial arts skill to claim the Gold Medal and bring glory to the region. Er. M.R. Prajapati, Chairman of MSREM, and Er. G.R. Dafara, General Secretary, also extended heartfelt congratulations to Jagriti, describing her as a great inspiration for the youth of Jammu & Kashmir. Sham Lal Basson, Ex-Councillor, congratulated Jagriti and her family for this outstanding achievement. He emphasized the significance of Kalarippayattu-also known as Kalari-an ancient martial art originating from Kerala's southwestern coast. He noted that Jagriti serves as a strong role model for young girls, particularly in the area of self-defense.
