2 inter-state drug peddlers arrested, 350 grams of opium recovered

JAMMU, June 10: Continuing its crackdown on drug trafficking,today Jammu Police apprehended two drug peddlers and seized 350 grams of Opium (Afeem) like substance from their possession.
A random Police Naka was established at Kabir Colony, Talab Tillo, Jammu. Two individuals coming on foot from Talab Tillo towards Kabir Colony were stopped for checking. Upon noticing the police party, they exhibited suspicious behavior, prompting the police to suspect them. When they attempted to escape, Alert police party apprehended them and searched their bags which they were carrying.
During search 226.70 Grams of Opium (Afeem) was recovered from the possession of Sudhir Singh S/O Ompal Singh R/o Vill. Bhatpura Chandu Teh. Powyan Distt. Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh and 123.50 Grams of opium (Afeem) was recovered from the possession of Surya Partap Singh S/O Satinder Singh R/o Vill. Bhatpura Chandu, Teh. Powyan, Distt. Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
In this connection, FIR no 75/2025 U/S 8/18/29 NDPS Act was instantly registered at PS Nowabad and further investigation is underway to trace the source and network behind the illegal drug trade. More arrests and recoveries cannot be ruled out.
Police Party led by Inspector Deepak Pathania SHO PS Nowabad and assisted by PSI Paramjeet I/C PP Talab Tillo made the arrests/recoveries under the supervision of Ms. Farha Nishat DySP Hqrs, Sh. Vivek Shekhar SP City North Jammu & Sh. Joginder Singh SSP Jammu.
Jammu Police reiterates its firm resolve to eliminate the drug menace from society and appeals to the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity. Public cooperation is key to building a safer and drug-free Jammu.
