| Nowshera police accelerates war on drugs | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 10: Today on 10.06.2025, a Police team from Police Station (PS) Nowshera apprehended a notorious drug peddler named Sunny Kumar @ Sundi, S/O Jai Ram, R/O Bareri Tehsil Nowshera, District Rajouri. He is a habitual drug peddler criminal was involved in the possession and transportation of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in various NDPS cases within the Rajouri district. These cases are registered under FIR No. 03/2024 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act and FIR No. 15/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act at PS Nowshera.
A detention warrant under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act, 1988, was issued against him. To curb his illegal activities in drug trafficking within the district, a "Dossier" was prepared against the accused and after obtaining the detention warrant from the concerned higher ups under the PIT-NDPS Act (also known as the Public Safety Act or PSA) the accused has been lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu. |
