Development And Devotion
6/10/2025 11:19:03 PM
Recently, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated “CCTV Surveillance System with Integrated Command & Control Centre” for Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.
The system with cutting-edge technology will enable real-time monitoring and crowd management for safety, security of devotees and it will ensure hassle-free pilgrimage. This proactive approach has significantly reduced the chances of stampedes, unauthorized intrusions, and other mishaps. It also offers a deterrent against potential anti-social elements that may try to disrupt the peace of this revered place.
After dedicating the Centre to the people the Lieutenant Governor interacted with the engineers and operational staff. He emphasized the need for regular training of staff and seamless collaboration with security agencies and other stakeholders to maximise the Centre’s utility.
After taking over the reins of Jammu and Kashmir in 2020, LG Manoj Sinha has led from the front and has ensured that people get all the facilities.
During the past five years LG Sinha has taken numerous steps to provide more and more facilities to the pilgrims visiting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.
From better connectivity and accommodation facilities to advanced disaster management and now digital surveillance, the pilgrimage to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, nestled in the Trikuta Hills, has undergone a remarkable transformation. This consistent attention to pilgrimage development has not only boosted religious tourism but has also strengthened the local economy by supporting hospitality, transport, and allied sectors.
It must also be acknowledged that the spiritual sanctity of such places must coexist with modern systems without compromising the pilgrim’s sense of devotion and peace. By carefully integrating the surveillance system into the environment of the shrine, the administration has struck the right balance between security and serenity.
The new system sets a benchmark for other religious destinations in the country. It showcases how technology can become an enabler of spiritual journeys, making them safer and more organized. In a time when public safety is paramount, such initiatives reaffirm the administration’s proactive governance and future-ready vision.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s efforts have once again demonstrated that development and devotion can go hand-in-hand. With such initiatives, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine not only retains its sacred stature but also stands as a shining example of digital-age pilgrimage management.
