| NC committed to protect farmer’s interests: Gupta | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu Apr 25- Provincial President J&K National Conference, Jammu province Rattan Lal Gupta today visited Badyal Brahmana, Shanka , Tokanwali and Fathepur in R.S Pura sector here today to take stock of the loss of the crops destroyed due to fire. The people of the areas informed the Provincial President that their standing crop irrigated on approximately thirty kanals of land were destroyed due to the unfortunate incident of fire and more than fifty families have suffered with the incident.
Speaking to the farmers of the areas, Gupta expressed deep concern over the loss which the farmers of the areas have suffered due to fire and demanded that the government should assess the losses and compensate the affected farmers..
Gupta assured the farmers that he will take up the matter with the concerned authorities and will ensure that their losses are compensated and adequate relief provided to them. He also demanded that the government should implement Crop Insurance Scheme in Jammu and Kashmir State so that any loss occurred to the crop due to natural calamities be compensated .He said that National Conference is committed to protect the interests of the farmers.
S. Taranjeet Singh Tony District President Jammu Rural ‘B’, Rajesh Bittu, Provincial President Kissan Cell of the party and Block Presidents of the District also accompanied Gupta during his visit.
