Jammu Tawi Aarti organised by Shri Raghunathji Corridor Development Council

JAMMU, June 12: On the evening of Wednesday, 11th June 2025, a grand "Jammu Tawi Aarti" was organized by Shri Raghunathji Corridor Development Council. This event is organized every month. And it took place at the beautiful Aarti Ghat on Tawi River Front at 6:30 pm.
The venue is part of the project built by Jammu Smart City Limited (JSCL) on the banks of Surya Putri Maa Tavishi River, which is considered to be the younger sister of Ganga Maiya.
This month's Aarti was dedicated to the Indian Army. Two minutes silence was observed to pay tribute to 28 tourists killed in Pahalgam terror attack and Army jawans who sacrificed their lives while performing their duties while protecting the country's border.The event started with recitation of National Anthem.
The main objective of this Aarti is to connect youth and present generation with Sanatan culture, maintain cleanliness of holy Tawi river, and attract pilgrims and tourists visiting Jammu and Kashmir. The Council wants this Aarti to become an important step in establishing Jammu, the city of temples, as an independent tourist destination.
Shri Rajesh Gupta, Chairman, Shri Raghunathji Corridor Vikas Council, informed that Havan Yagna was performed for the first Puja on the occasion of Jeshtha Purnima to seek blessings of Lord Shiva for Shri Amarnathji and Shri Budha Amarnathji Yatra 2025 so that both these Yatras are auspicious for all. Rajesh Gupta welcomed all the guests present on the occasion of the Aarti.
Shri Baldev Khullar, Senior Vice President, said that Tawi Aarti is not just a religious ritual but a campaign for the renaissance of Indian culture.
Giving details of the Aarti, Shri Baldev Khullar, the organizer of the Aarti, said that this 40-minute Aarti was divided into four phases: First phase: 33 crore deities were worshipped with incense sticks. Aarti of Ganga Maiya and Tawi Maiya was performed with Google Dhoop Patra during the "Bhagirath Nandini" Kirtan. Second phase: This phase was dedicated to Lord Shiva. During this, Aarti of Baba Amarnath, Baba Vishwanath and other self-manifested Shiva forms of Jammu was performed with Nag Agni Jyot Patra. Third phase: Aarti of Lord Shri Ramchandra Maharaj Ji was performed with "Om Jai Jagdish Hare".
During this, seven big lamps with 51 Jyoti Shikhas were lit. Fourth and final phase: Shri Ram Stuti was performed with peacock feather and chawar. The Aarti of Mata Vaishno Devi Ji and Mata Bave Wali Ji made the atmosphere more spiritual. Shri Rajesh Dewan, General Secretary, said that this Aarti will also play a vital role in environmental conservation, spirituality, and promoting tourism. There were 10 priests dressed in uniform attire performing the Aarti beautifully.
