June 2025 term-end examinations of IGNOU start smoothly across the region

JAMMU, June 12: The June 2025 Term-end Examinations of the Indira Gandhi National Open University for various Academic Programmes offered by the University have commenced smoothly today. The examinations will conclude on 19th July 2025.
The University, under the Jammu Region, has established 32 Examination Centres which include four Examination Centres in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, District Jail Ambphalla, District Jail Udhampur and District Jail Kathua exclusively for Jail inmates and one Examination Centre in Northern Command Udhampur exclusively for Army personnel.
Around 35,000 students who had filled their examination forms under the Regional Centre Jammu are appearing in the exams in around 1,74,000 sittings in the Examination Centres spread across the region. The examinations are being conducted in two sessions everyday. The morning session starts from 10AM till 1PM and the evening session starts from 2PM to 5PM. There are no examinations on Sundays and Govt. gazetted holidays.
With the temperatures soaring between 44 and 48 degrees Celsius in most parts of the region, and while most of the people prefer to remain indoors, the students of IGNOU could be seen rushing to the Examination Centres with full enthusiasm.
Despite the intense heat wave, the Flying Squad teams remained on the move going for surprise checks at the Examination Centres across length and breadth of the region. Flying Squad team comprising of Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director, Regional Centre Jammu and Assistant Regional Director Dr. Asha Upadhyay made surprise visits to the Exam Centres at Govt. MAM College, Jammu, GGM Science College, KC College of Education, Akhnoor Road, Muthi, Jammu and Central Sanskrit University, Kot Bhalwal, Jammu for surprise check.
Assistant Regional Directors Dr. Vikram Singh and Dr. Zeba, visited the Exam Centre at Govt. Degree College Paloura Mishriwala and Govt. College for Women, Padade Jammu.
Based on on-the-spot random surprise checks and feedback obtained from other field functionaries, Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director, and other team members informed that the examinations are being conducted smoothly across the region in a fair manner. Dr. Sandeep lauded the efforts of Examination Superintendents, Regional Centre functionaries, Invigilation and other staff in ensuring smooth conduct of examinations in Jammu region.
Dr. Sandeep also informed that the local administration, higher education department, postal authorities and police authorities have been cooperative in helping us to organize trouble free examinations all across the region.
