GDC Vijaypur hosts special lecture on “Fundamental Rights, Duties”

Vijaypur, June 13: As a part of the series of events being organized under the flagship banner of “Hamara Samvidhan Hamara Swabhiman” and “Celebration of Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel” a special lecture on the theme “Fundamental Rights and Duties” was organized by NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of the college. The purpose of the lecture was to make students aware of their rights and duties enshrined in Indian Constitution. Students and NSS volunteers participated in the lecture with great enthusiasm and zeal.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Sonia Devi briefed the students about fundamental rights and duties which are guaranteed to all the citizens of India. She further stated that fundamental rights are enforced by the courts, subject to certain conditions. These rights are known to be committed to social justice. Article 12 to 35 contained in part III of the Constitution deals with fundamental rights; while Article 51 A contained in part IV A of the Constitution deals with fundamental duties.
of the College, Dr. (Prof.) Ashu Vashisht while speaking on the occasion articulated that students must be aware of their rights and duties as a citizen of India. She further said that fundamental duties are moral obligations of all citizens to help promote a spirit of patriotism and uphold India’s unity.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Arti Sharma (HOD Environmental Science), Dr. Manoj Heer (HOD Dogri), Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (HOD English and NSS PO) and Dr. Nain Singh.
