Jammu, June 15: To mark World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on June 15, 2025, an annual report by HelpAge India has been released today by Sh. Shiv Kumar Sharma (IPS) DIG JSK Range along with Deepak Khajuria Sr. Journalist Jammu Executive Editor The Newsroom 24 Awaz Jammu, team of HelpAge India including Mrs. Neeru Sharma Khajuria (Manager HelpAge India), Tanmay Sharma (Volunteer HelpAge India), Sh. Darshan Shastri (Renowned Astrologer and Social activist) and many other senior citizens.
On the occasion, DIG Jammu highlighted the issues of elder abuse and said that such reports are an eye opener for society. DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma having all praises for HelpAge India’s Jammu Team for working selflessly for Elders in Jammu and Kashmir.
DIG Jammu also said that JSK Range Police ready to work in association with HelpAge India for the welfare of senior citizens and old age people. HelpAge India also operates a national toll-free helpline number for the elderly (1800-180-1253), currently active in 15 states.
