DC Reasi finalises arrangements for International Yoga Day-2025 celebrations

REASI, June 17: In preparation for International Yoga Day scheduled on June 21, a meeting of stakeholder departments was convened today to finalise the necessary arrangements. Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik chaired the meeting.
As per the plan, a Mega Yoga Session will be organised at General Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium in wee hours to mark the global celebration of Yoga and promote its numerous health benefits among the general public. Similar events will be held at the subdivision level, in colleges, schools and at potential tourist spots.
Speaking at the meeting, DC Nidhi Malik directed the Department of AYUSH to make all arrangements well in time like arranging yoga mats, T-shirts, deputing qualified yoga instructors to lead the sessions. The Health Department was instructed to ensure the presence of medical staff and ambulances at all venues for emergency support. She also directed XEN PHE to keep available an adequate drinking water facility for participants, while the EO MC will oversee sanitation arrangements.
All SDMs were instructed to make the necessary arrangements to celebrate the day in their jurisdictions to ensure wide reach and participation.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to begin the execution of their respective responsibilities well in advance. She emphasised the importance of inter-departmental coordination and mass participation to make the event a grand success.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal, ADC Rakesh Kumar, CPO Narinder Kumar, ACD, District AYUSH Officer, officers from the Police, DIO (Information), President of Patanjali Yog Sansthan and representatives from Degree Colleges and other institutions were present at the meeting.
