22 RR organized free veterinary camp at Zaloora Sopore

Zaloora (Sopore): April 16 : To provide free animal-medicare to the rural masses making their livelihood on cattle rearing in north Kashmir’s Sopore area, 22 Rashtriya Rifles(RR) organized a free veterinary camp in Zaloora village of Sopore tehsil.

The farmers rearing cattle and those associated with dairy farming from Zaloora and other adjoining rural turned up to the veterinary camp. Hundreds of farmers brought their cattle which include cows, calves, goats etc for treatment and received free medical assistance.

Continuing with its adage of welfare ‘Jawan Aur Awam Aman Hai Mukam’ the free medical camp was part of people friendly activities conducted by army under operation Sadbhawna particularly in rural areas.

The local residents acknowledge and admired role army for providing succor to the people who have least access to veterinary facilities.

"We are highly thankful to the army official who organized this free veterinary camp for the poor people here who earn their livelihood from cattle rearing re unable to get medical treatment in private," said an elderly Ghulam Nabi Mir who had brought his cow for treatment.

Adding he said that we request army officials to organize more such camps here so that the poor and down trodden masses are helped.

They locals also urged army officials to establish a community hall and computer center in the village.

Organizer of the medical camp, Commanding Officer Col Sabarwal 22 R.R while talking to said," The free veterinary camp is aimed at providing medicare to the livestock of the poor farmers who make their livelihood from cattle rearing.”

He added that services of highly experienced thirteen army veterinary doctors and Animal Husbandry medical officer were provided besides free to medical stimulant and other medicines were distributed among people besides 429 animals were treated in this camp .

After inaugurating the camp, Commanding Officer 5 Sector R.R Brigadier J S Sindhu said, “Aim of organizing such camps is to help people particularly those associated with cattle rearing and diary farming. Army has been providing other facilities to the people under Operation Sadhbavna.”

“Response of these camps illustrated that local population expresses its faith and support in the efforts of army to establish peace and tranquility in Kashmir,” added Sandhu.
