6/19/2025 9:53:34 PM
Early Times Report

Gorakhpur, June 19: The Gorakhpur Link Expressway, developed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), is set to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath this Friday. With this, Uttar Pradesh will have its seventh operational expressway. Notably, five of these seven expressways have been completed in the last eight years under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath. Currently, construction is underway on three additional expressways, while eight more are in the proposal stage.
The Yogi government has significantly accelerated infrastructure development, firmly establishing Uttar Pradesh as the "Expressway State" of India. Prior to 2017, the state had only two operational expressways. Since then, five new expressways have been completed and opened to traffic.
With the inclusion of the Gorakhpur Link Expressway, Uttar Pradesh now holds the distinction of having the longest network of expressways in the country. These high-speed corridors are playing a pivotal role in fast-tracking the state's economic growth and regional connectivity.
