Doda Police’s Cyber Unit Traces 43 Missing Smartphones | | | Early Times Report
Doda, June 19: In a statement issued by J&K Police District Doda it was told that, CCIU (Cyber Crime Investigation Unit) of J&K Police District Doda under the supervision of SSP Doda Sh. Sandeep Mehta JKPS and lead by PSI Ankush Nagra, has exhibited highest level of professionalism and commitment in combating against cybercrime by successfully solving and recovering online defrauded money amounting Rs. 8,39,004/- and also traced and recovered 43 lost Mobile Phones whose estimated value is around RS 8,00,026/- from within and different States/ UTs of the country. While giving details J&K Police of District Doda said that the unit received Online Financial fraud and Mobile Missing/Lost complaints from different complainants. During the course of investigation, CCIU team, exhibited hectic efforts and advanced technical skills which ultimately led to the successful recovery of defrauded amount of Rs. 8,39,004/- and also recovered *43 lost/missing Mobile Phones whose estimated value is around RS 8,00,026/-.* SSP Doda Shri Sandeep Kumar Mehta- JKPS handed over the recovered mobile phones to their rightful owners at District Police Headquarters Doda. SSP Doda appealed the general public to take utmost care of their mobiles as they contain personal data and there is every possibility of misuse of Mobile Phones. Upon receiving their missing/ lost mobile phones, the owners felt elated and expressed their gratitude towards the District Police Doda for their arduous effort in tracing their missing mobiles. SSP Doda Sh. Sandeep Mehta JKPS reiterated in his appeal to the general public to remain extra vigilant and report promptly to the National Helpline number 1930 or lodge cyber complaints online at www.cybercrime.gov.in and in case of Lost/Stolen Mobile report on www.ceir.gov.in. Mentionable here that CCIU Doda came to be established on 07-02-2024 and since then the unit has successfully recovered huge de -frauded money amount *Rs.48,76,338/- and also successfully recovered 219 Mobile Phones amounting Rs.38,41,973 /- so far. |
