MAJALTA, June 21: Government Degree College Majalta celebrated the International Day of Yoga with great enthusiasm and active participation on June 21, 2025 at Mansar Lake and in the college premises. The event aimed to spread awareness about the benefits of yoga for physical and mental well-being, in line with the global theme of the day.
The programme commenced with a brief inaugural address by Esteemed Principal of the College Prof (Dr.) Shalini Sharma who highlighted the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life for maintaining health, focus, and inner peace. Faculty members, NSS volunteers, and students gathered in large numbers to take part in the yoga session.
A trained yoga instructor was invited to conduct a live demonstration of various yoga asanas including Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Bhujangasana, Trikonasana, and Pranayama exercises like Anulom-Vilom and Bhramari. The participants followed the instructions enthusiastically, maintaining discipline and mindfulness throughout the session.
The yoga demonstration was followed by a short interactive session where students shared their experiences and understanding of the role of yoga in stress management and holistic development.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks appreciating the collective efforts of all participants, faculty members, and volunteers in making the event successful. The celebration served as a reminder of India's rich cultural heritage and the universal relevance of yoga in today's world. The Esteemed Faculty Members and NSS Volunteers made the Event a huge success.
