Early Times Report RS PURA, June 21: Government Degree College (GDC) R.S. Pura joined the global celebration of the International Day of Yoga by organizing a special yoga session on its campus today. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and staff, promoting the theme of this year: "Yoga for Self and Society." The session began early in the morning with a warm welcome from the Principal,Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour, who highlighted the importance of yoga in maintaining physical, mental, and emotional well-being. In her address, she emphasized the relevance of incorporating yoga into daily life, especially for the youth. Yoga instructor Dipti Karlopia, led the session, guiding participants through a series of asanas (postures), pranayams (breathing techniques), and meditation. The exercises focused on improving flexibility, concentration, and inner peace. The event was organized under the aegis of the NCC/NSS Unit, sports Committee,Yoga Committee and Department of Physical Education, with meticulous coordination by faculty and volunteers. Informational brochures on yoga and wellness were also distributed to raise awareness about the health benefits of the ancient practice. The program concluded with a collective pledge to continue practicing yoga regularly and promoting holistic health in the community. The initiative reflects GDC R.S.
