Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 21: A delegation of Chamber of Commerce & Industry led by its President Sh. Arun Gupta called upon Hon'ble Chief Minister Sh. Omar Abdullah in his public services and outreach office Raabita at Canal Road Jammu and discussed various issues pertaining to Trade and Industry.
During interaction Arun Gupta pointed out that time and again we have taken up various issues but most of the demands are still pending. The projects like Beautification of River Tawi front, River Tawi Artificial Lake and the Heritage complex at Mubarakh Mandi have not seen the light of the day. We have also demanded that Patnitop should be developed on modern lines and allowing construction of five star hotels and Restaurants to attract the tourists.
Arun Gupta further said that we have time and again requested that the development of religious tourists circuit in Jammu is the need of the hour and steps should be taken to impress upon the pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi to visit these sites. The government should launch a promotion campaign to promote these religious tourists circuit available in Jammu like Raghunath Mandir, Jamwant Cave near Peermitha, Pandav Cave in Akhnoor, Shahdra Sharief in Rajouri, Nangla Sahib in Poonch, Budha Amarnath in Mandi, Shivkhori, Uttervehni, Sarthal Devi, Sukrala Mata, Sudh Mahadev and Machil Mata. He also requested the Hon'ble Chief Minister that infrastructure like roads etc. should be developed in these areas. Further the Tourist place of Jammu which have remained untapped till now, which include peerpanchal mountains range, tourist attractive places in Poonch & Rajouri districts, Patnitop, Surinsar, Mansar, Sanasar, Bani, Basoli and Bhaderwah, should be developed on modern lines.
Further we have time and again requested to allow the bifurcation of Plots in Gandhi Nagar Housing Colony and Channi Himmat Housing Colony. This issue should be resolved at the earliest.
He further said that we have repeatedly been requesting to develop the New Residential Colonies/ Commercial Markets in Jammu City, but the demand is still pending.
The Bahu Plaza Commercial Market was developed some 28 years ago and the lease deeds in respect of some allottees are still pending, though they have deposited the premium amount as published in the newspaper at that time. We request that this issue be resolved once for all. So that the market which is 50% open and 50% closed due to non-corporation by Jammu Development Authority is sorted out.
Arun Gupta briefed the Hon'ble Chief Minister that shops were allotted by Jammu Development Authority to some shopkeepers at Shiv Market Railway Station after depositing the requisite amount as advertised by the Jammu Development Authority at that time, but lease deeds have not been executed till date. Further the lease deeds in respect of the allottees of Sabzi Mandi/Fruit Mandi which have expired should be renewed further after charging reasonable premium.
We also request that the lease deeds in respect of properties of J&K Housing Board, Jammu Municipal Corporation and other Govt. departments should also be renewed.
He also requested the Hon'ble Chief Minister that the issue relating to Gair Mumkin Khad which is still pending be resolved once for all.
Arun Gupta also requested the Hon'ble Chief Minister that the Shopkeepers whose shops have come under the flyover project from Kunjwani-Satwari upto Government College Gandhinagar should be rehabilitated. Further the businessmen who were dislocated by the construction of flyover from Canal Road to BSF School were promised by the then administration to provide them alternate sites for carrying over their business after charging reasonable premium but their case is still pending. The same should be resolved once for all.
Arun Gupta also discussed the issue regarding extension of Industrial Policy which is going to expire in the year 2026 with the Hon'ble Chief Minister and requested that government should take up this issue with the Union Government as you have also said that industry cannot run without incentives and support of the government. Further the turnover incentives which was announced during the LG government should be given to the industries as announced including the existing industry. The issue of local flour and oil miller was also discussed in detail.
Ownership rights should be given to the local Industrial entrepreneurs and warehouse traders after charging reasonable premium.
Arun Gupta also briefed the Hon'ble Chief Minister that at present the Transport Sector is facing lot of problems/hardships. To overcome these hardships government should provide hand holding support for their survival.
While replying on the issues put before the Hon'ble Chief Minister he said that the ongoing projects shall be completed very soon and the religious tourist circuits will be developed to attract the tourists in Jammu. Regarding Industrial Package he assured that we are continuously taking up this issue with the Union Government and we are hopeful that the Industrial package will be extended further. While replying about the issues pertaining to Housing and Urban Development Department he said that very soon we will sit together where all the Heads / Senior Officers of Housing and Urban Development Department shall also be present in the meeting and the issue shall be resolved.
