Early Times Report JAMMU, June 21: In compliance with the directions of SSP Jammu, two Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meetings were held today by SP Rural Jammu, one at Panjgrain, Nagrota and the other at Saloora, Jhajjar Kotli. The meetings were attended by the local public and shopkeepers along the National Highway, with the objective of strengthening cooperation between the police and the community ahead of the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2025. SDPO Nagrota, SHO Nagrota, and SHO Jhajjar Kotli were also present during the meetings. The public was briefed on their vital role in ensuring the smooth and secure conduct of the Yatra. While security forces are actively engaged in safeguarding the Yatra route, public vigilance and support were highlighted as equally essential. Locals and shopkeepers were advised to: Remain alert and immediately report any suspicious persons, movements to the nearest police station. Assist police with verification of all employees/staff working in shops and establishments along the route. Install high quality CCTV cameras at their premises to enhance security surveillance. During the interaction, several public issues such as drug smuggling, illegal mining, and theft were also raised. On the spot directions were given by SP Rural Jammu to the SDPO and SHOs concerned for priority redressal of these issues. The local community members expressed their full support and assured the police of complete cooperation in making SANJY-2025 a safe, smooth, and successful pilgrimage. |
