| Major fire breaks in jewellry shop | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 26:
A major fire broke out inside a jewellry shop due to short circuit this afternoon at famous Lakhdata bazaar here, police sources said.
Fire broke out at around 1300 hrs inside Talla Jewellers owned by one Ajay Kumar, this afternoon due to shoot circuit damaging furniture and other items inside, Dy Sp Swatantra Arora, Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) North said.
Arora said on receiving information, police party rushed to the spot and one fire tender was also pressed into service.
Being Sunday, the shop was closed but the police personnel broke the door and with the help of crew of fire and emergency services, the fire was controlled in around two hours from being spreading to the adjoining shops and houses, the police officer said.
Besides damage to the furniture and other goods inside the shop, no major loss to any property or life was reported, Mr Arora added.
