Celebration of International Yoga Day-2025

Kathua, June 23: On the occasion of 11th International Yoga Day, NCC and NSS volunteers of GDC Kathua under the guidance of Worthy Principal, Dr Savi Bahl, actively participated in a special event organized in collaboration with the District Administration, Kathua on June 21, 2025. The program was held at Sports Stadium, Kathua bringing together government officials, students, volunteers and citizens to promote physical and mental well-being through Yoga.
The event began in the morning around 6.15 am with a mass Yoga session, where participants performed various Yog-asanas with the help of certified Yoga instructors. The celebration concluded with a pledge to practice Yoga regularly and spread its benefits to the wider community. The District Collector, Sh. Rakesh Minhas addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of incorporating Yoga into daily life for a healthier and more balanced lifestyle. Around sixty students along with some faculty members participated in this celebration.
The principal of the college appreciated the enthusiastic participation of NCC and NSS volunteers who were coordinated by NCC ANO Lt. (Dr.) Daya Ram, NCC CTO Dr. Pinkey, NSS Program Officers Dr Kulbir Singh and Prof Arvind Kumar of the college. NSS Program officers for their commitment to spreading awareness about fitness and holistic living. The event was a great success and served as a platform for promoting health, unity and volunteerism.
