Baba Budan Ali Shah is a respected Sufi saint who is remembered with great love and respect in Jammu, especially in the area called Chatha. His dargah (holy shrine) is located there, and it is a place where people from different religions and communities come to pray and seek blessings.
Baba Budan Ali Shah was known for his kindness, simple living, and service to humanity. He spread the message of peace, brotherhood, and love. People believe that he helped the poor and needy and always guided people to follow the path of truth. His teachings encouraged harmony among different religions and promoted the values of honesty, compassion, and respect for all.
The dargah of Baba Budan Ali Shah at Chatha is a symbol of unity. Every year, a large number of devotees visit the shrine during his Urs (death anniversary), which is celebrated with great devotion. On this occasion, people offer chadars (cloth sheets), flowers, and prayers at his grave. Free food (langar) is also distributed to all visitors without any discrimination.
The peaceful atmosphere of the dargah gives hope and comfort to those who come here with faith. Even today, people believe that Baba Budan Ali Shah’s blessings protect them from difficulties and bring happiness in their lives.
