Jammu Police arrested two wanted shooters involved in Gangyal firing incident

Jammu, June 24: In continuation to the ongoing investigation into the Gangyal firing incident registered under FIR No. 68/2025 u/s 109, 111, 191(3) BNS and 3/25 Arma Act at Police Station Gangyal, Jammu Police today under intensified efforts on 23.06.2025 successfully apprehended the remaining two main accused, who were still evading the arrest.
In the sensational incident which took place at Gangyal Chowk on 06/06/2025,the two main accused who opened fire, resulting in gunshot injuries in the right arm of one person namely Paramjeet Singh S/O Harnam Singh R/O Seora were nabbed by a team of Police Station Gangyal under the close supervision of SDPO South Sh. Sunil Singh Jasrotia-JKPS.
The two wanted accused arrested by police have been identified as Ramandeep Singh
Dutta, S/O Amrik Singh Dutta and Harneet Singh Dutta S/O Amrik Singh Dutta are residents of Digiana Ashram Jammu
It is pertinent to mention here that despite the arrest of four key accused earlier,two accused 1) Harneet Singh @ Honey S/O Amrik Singh and 2) Ramandeep Singh S/O Amrik Singh, both residents of House No. 414, Digiana Ashram, Jammu—remain absconding and were actively evading police pursuit.To facilitate their apprehension and alert the public and relevant agencies, Hue and Cry Notices were issued against both absconders. In addition, Look Out Circulars (LOCs) were generated and shared with all concerned agencies to prevent their escape from the country and ensure their immediate detention if located.Finally sustained professional efforts of investigation team yielded results and both the accused accused were arrested and put behind the bars.
The Jammu police worked rigorously to dismantle the broader network behind this criminal conspiracy.
Jammu Police reiterates its commitment to act firmly against those who attempt to disrupt public order and threaten civil peace. Further updates will follow as the investigation progresses.
