Shri Bharat Priye appointed Chairman of Kisan Congress, J&K PCC | | | Early Times Report
New Delhi, June 24: In a significant organizational development, the Hon’ble Congress President has approved the appointment of Shri Bharat Priye as the new Chairman of the Kisan Congress, Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (J&K PCC). This decision comes into immediate effect, as per an official press release issued by K.C. Venugopal, General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC). Shri Bharat Priye, a dedicated grassroots leader and advocate for farmers' rights, will now lead the party’s farmers’ wing in the Jammu & Kashmir region. His appointment is seen as part of the Congress party’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its farmer-centric outreach and organizational structure in the Union Territory. The Kisan Congress is the agrarian wing of the Indian National Congress, focusing on the issues and welfare of farmers across the country. With Shri Bharat Priye at the helm in J&K, the party aims to intensify its campaigns and initiatives on issues like crop insurance, minimum support prices (MSP), irrigation support, and agricultural reforms. Party workers and supporters from various parts of the Union Territory have welcomed the move and expressed confidence that Bharat Priye's leadership will give new momentum to farmer-related activities and concerns in the region. Bharat Priye is Young leader of the party belongs to border area of Akhnoor and has been associated with the Kissan movement of the party for long time. He had been national Coordinator of All India Kissan Congress since 2015 and appointed as acting Chairman of J&K Kissan Congress in September last year.
