Home for Aged & Infirm holds meeting

JAMMU, June 24: The Managing Committee of the Home for Aged & Infirm, (Oldage Home), Jammu, held its meeting on 23rd June 2025, chaired by I.D. Soni (President). Present were H.S. Manhas (Vice President), Vijay Gupta (Joint Secretary), R.C. Vaid, Sat Paul Sharma (Managing Committee Members), and Dr. Dinesh Gupta (Secretary). Prem Gupta and Pankaj Gupta were unable to attend due to prior commitments.
The meeting began with a welcome address by the President, followed by confirmation of the minutes of the previous meeting held on 28th May 2025. The Income & Expenditure account for May 2025 was approved, and major donations during the month were duly acknowledged.
The Committee confirmed the admission of Shri Anil Kumar as a new inmate and appreciated visits by institutions and individuals. It approved financial assistance to 19 new applicants out of 75 applicants, as recommended by the Sub-Committee. Formation of a Food Sub-Committee and enrolment of four new Life Members were also approved.
Preparations for celebrating R.N. Prabhakar Ji's birth anniversary on 9th July 2025 were finalized. A proposal from Savitri Devi Jagiri Lal Charitable Trust to set up a dispensary and physiotherapy unit was agreed to in principle, with further discussions to follow.
To strengthen administration, the Committee approved the formation of Hygiene and Property Maintenance Sub-Committees. It also resolved to address the issue of delayed rent payments by shopkeepers through scheduled meeting. The Committee took note of challenges due to power outages and considered acquiring generators for uninterrupted electricity.
Inmates and workers expressed satisfaction during a brief interaction session. The release of surplus stock was approved as per past practice. With no further business, the meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the Chair.
