BANDIPORA, June 25: As part of the ongoing Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA), district administration Bandipora today organised a mega awareness and benefit saturation camp at Auditorium, Boys HSS Dawar, Gurez.
The initiative aims to ensure the saturation of government welfare schemes and doorstep delivery of services to the tribal population of the district.
The event was presided over by the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Gurez, Nazir Ahmad Khan, and Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, besides witnessing participation of DDC Member for Tulail, Raja Aijaz; DDC Member for Gurez, Tasleema begum.
DPO ICDS Bandipora, SDM Gurez, CMO Bandipora, CAHO Bandipora, CAO Bandipora, CHO Bandipora, DSHO Bandipora, among others attended the event. Additionally, officers from various line departments, tribal NGOs, community leaders, and a large number of local tribal residents also participated in the event, making it a vibrant and inclusive outreach effort under the DAJGUA campaign.
On the occasion, MLA Gurez, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, DDC Member for Tulail, and DDC Member for Gurez, jointly inspected stalls set up by various departments, interacted with the beneficiaries, and reviewed the services being delivered on the ground.
MLA Gurez underscored that DAJGUA is not merely an awareness drive but a mission to saturate government schemes, uplift tribal populations, and promote equitable development.
He further urged district officers to maintain close coordination with sectoral heads.
He termed the initiative as a vital step toward inclusive governance. He called on the local population to actively participate in such camps to avail the benefits of various central and UT-sponsored schemes.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Bandipora highlighted the vision of the DAJGUA campaign, reaching the last mile and ensuring that no eligible tribal household remains outside the ambit of government support.
He urged the tribal community to take pride in their identity and heritage. He stated that the DAJGUA campaign is a vital initiative aimed at promoting tribal culture, generating awareness, extending the benefits of government schemes, and plugging developmental gaps to ensure inclusive growth.
DDC Member for Tulail, while addressing the gathering, said that the campaign serves as a powerful reminder of the invaluable contributions of tribal communities to society.
He emphasized the need to recognize and celebrate their legacy while working collectively for their development.
The camp witnessed the participation of various departments including Health, Ayush, ICDS, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Social Welfare, Employment, Food and Civil Supplies, Revenue, NRLM, and Handicrafts. Stalls provided a wide range of on-spot services such as Aadhaar enrolment, Ayushman Bharat registration, PM-JAY certification, pension and ration card processing, and distribution of entitlements under various welfare schemes.
The event featured vibrant cultural performances by various educational institutions, including GGHSS Dawar, Habba Khatoon Dramatic Club, and EMRS Gurez, which presented a Nukkad Natak on the life of Birsa Munda. BHSS Dawar contributed with a traditional Shina song, celebrating the region’s rich cultural heritage and promoting a spirit of unity and pride.
Gurez camp forms a key component of the 15-day district-wide DAJGUA campaign launched earlier at GHSS Aragam.
The campaign is targeting 31 identified tribal villages across Bandipora district with a mission to ensure 100% saturation of welfare schemes, foster inclusion, and bridge developmental gaps in remote areas.
The event concluded with a collective reaffirmation of the district administration’s commitment to tribal welfare, social justice, and equitable development, in line with the vision of Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyaan.
