4/27/2009 10:24:04 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Apr 27- Accusing the National Conference led coalition government of hatching a conspiracy to repeat ‘1987 rigging’, the candidates of Hazratbal assembly constituency on Monday submitted memorandum before the deputy commissioner, Srinagar demanding action against the NC candidate.
Reports said that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asiya Naqash and Save Srinagar Front (SSF) president, Mufti Nazim-ud-din along with hundreds of their supporters appeared outside the Gupkar residence of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and staged a sit-in.
Shouting slogans against National Conference (NC) and Election Commission of India (ECI) the protesters said that the decision of EC to rescind the notification for the by-poll elections for Hazratbal constituency was undemocratic. They demanded disqualification and stern action against NC candidate Mustafa Kamal.
