| Omar deviating attention to hide failures: Mehbooba | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Apr 27- Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti has said the invented utterances of the National Conference (NC) leaders has not only brought into open the inherent political bankruptcy of the party but it also depicts the desperation and frustration that has overtaken its rank and file including the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Addressing public meetings in Ganderbal and Kangan assembly segments of the Srinagar parliamentary constituency today, Mehbooba said bereft of any political or economic agenda for the State, NC leadership has turned a politically bankrupt and discredited lot, which clearly reflects in their malevolent utterances and hysterical disparage. She said the people have already written-off NC as one of the misfortunes that was foisted on the State only to push it into the most tragic era of death and destruction. “The NC leaders have run out of all respect and credibility among the people and their lust for power is now leading the party from one disaster to another,” she said and added that fortunately, in the changed circumstances, the fallacious verbal acrobatics of the NC leaders would impact the situation only in a positive sense as the party has forfeited its monopolistic hold on the State. The PDP President said while Omar Abdullah was groomed by the BJP and RSS to be made-in-Delhi chief minister for Jammu & Kashmir his father Dr Farooq Abdullah’s admiration for then governor Jagmohan is even today remembered by every Kashmiri. She said Dr Farooq Abdullah was the first to admire Jagmohan as a “father, philosopher and a guide”. “And who had then said that given the impressive work done by Jagmohan during his first term, he (Jagmohan) is more popular than any political leader in the State,” she said and added that it was none other than Dr Abdullah who had used all kinds of adjectives to shower praises on Jagmohan. “People have a short memory, but not as short Dr Abdullah thinks,” she said and added that to keep their lines of communication open with their mentors in BJP for a future alliance, the NC is still in coalition with the party in the Jammu Municipal Corporation and at the same time is having an alliance with Congress at the State-level. Mehbooba said having miserably failed to deliver on the governance front, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was now trying to shift the blame of his failures on one and all. “His spiteful and hysterical utterances against the PDP only reflect the political bankruptcy and myopic vision of the Chief Minister who has neither any political agenda nor any agenda for governance,” she said and added that Omar Abdullah is just enjoying the power without showing any concern towards the problems of the State and its people. “If Omar Abdullah couldn’t do anything for the State or even his parliamentary constituency as a Union Minister in BJP Government, except imposing a ban on Shahtoos, not much could be expected of him Chief Minister,” she said. PDP leaders Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari, Qazi Mohammad Afzal, Bashir Assad and Bashir Ahmad Mir also addressed the meetings
