Jammu, June 28: In an effort to enhance irrigation infrastructure in Jammu, a team of senior officials from the Command Area Development (CAD) Department, led by Director Shiv K. Gupta, conducted a comprehensive inspection of ongoing projects in Pouni and surrounding areas.
The visit, carried out under the guidance of the Commissioner Secretary, underscored the department’s commitment to ensuring quality and timely completion of critical irrigation initiatives.
The delegation included Project Officer CAD Soil and Water Management Sh. Ram Gopal Sharma, ASCO Rattan Sharma, SCA Dara Singh, and several other field functionaries.
Their mission was to review the progress of irrigation projects executed by contractors, ensuring adherence to high standards of quality and efficiency.
The team’s hands-on approach was evident as they meticulously assessed the work, instructing contractors to uphold sincerity and diligence in their efforts.
The visit drew a large turnout of local residents, who expressed appreciation for the department’s proactive engagement.
Community members lauded the CAD’s efforts, particularly highlighting the construction of irrigation channels that have significantly improved water access for farming.
Many urged officials to expand such projects to further enhance irrigation facilities across the region, emphasizing the transformative impact on agriculture and livelihoods.
