| 78 swap LoC sides via Poonch | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Apr 27- As many as 78 persons boarded the weekly Poonch-Rawlakote bus service via Chakan-da-Bagh crossing point along the line of control in Jammu region, official sources said. The sources said 33 persons crossed over to Pak including 2 fresh passengers from Jammu and 31 Pak residents, who returned to their homes after staying with their relatives, first time after partition of India and Pakistan in 1947. Similarly 45 persons arrived in Poonch from Pak which included 3 Pak nationals and 42 returnees, who had gone to other side of Line of Control to meet their relatives after nearly six decades. Forty first timers from Jammu made it to Pak on last occasion while as on March 2 and 9 not even a single citizen from Jammu could board the weekly bus. On March 16, only two civilians left for PaK. The number was five on March 23 and two on March 30. On April 6, only three civilians left for PaK while the number again came down to zero on April 13. While only 12 first-timers traveled from Jammu to Pak in seven weeks, about 170 fresh quests from Pak traveled to this side to meet their divided family members and relatives. Nearly six hundred, 596 persons, including 472 via Chakan-Da-Bagh and remaining 124 via Aman Setu, crossed the LoC in March while only 419 made it in February this year.
