‘Mission YUVA’
6/29/2025 11:03:11 PM
Mission YUVA, a visionary initiative aims to foster entrepreneurship in J&K by creating 1.37 lakh enterprises and 4.25 lakh jobs in 5 years.
The programme wants to take the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to new heights where they can write their destinies.
More than one crore people were surveyed before launching Mission Yuva. It has been observed in the past that funding has been a major hurdle for youth. Access to finance has always remained the biggest barrier. Under Mission Yuva, mechanism has been devised to remove this obstacle. Getting a loan from a bank typically requires a Detailed Project Report (DPR), which many young people don’t know how to prepare. That responsibility too has been taken up by this mission—through the use of Artificial Intelligence. It democratizes the process of seeking financial assistance, making it accessible even to those from the most remote corners of Jammu and Kashmir.
The scale and ambition of Mission YUVA deserve applause. The initiative moves beyond tokenism and enters the domain of systemic transformation. Importantly, it shifts the focus from job-seeking to job-creation, a much-needed change in a region that is brimming with untapped talent and creativity.
Moreover, the psychological impact of such a mission cannot be overstated. For decades, many young people in J&K have felt disconnected from the mainstream. Mission YUVA sends out a strong message: that they are not just included, but at the centre of a new vision for economic self-reliance and prosperity.
However, the real success of the initiative will depend on its execution. Timely disbursal of loans, continued handholding of entrepreneurs, skill development, market linkages, and mentorship are vital components that must be strengthened continuously. Additionally, transparency, grievance redressal mechanisms, and active community participation must be institutionalized to ensure that Mission YUVA delivers on its promise.
Mission YUVA is not just a government programme—it is a movement towards rewriting the socio-economic destiny of an entire generation. If implemented with the same foresight with which it has been designed, it has the potential to unleash a wave of grassroots entrepreneurship that will not only transform the lives of individuals but also contribute to lasting peace, stability, and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.
In nurturing dreams and creating platforms for self-made success, Mission YUVA represents the spirit of a new, self-reliant India—an India where every youth, irrespective of geography, has the opportunity to rise.
