Early Times Report JAMMU, July 4: Cluster university of Jammu completed its 4th Syndicate meeting on 4th July 2025. The meeting was chaired by Prof KS Chandrasekar, Vice Chancellor. Sri Santmanu IAS, Addl Chief Secretary, Sri. Santhosh D Vaidya IAS, Principal Secretary, Finance, Prof Kavita Shah, Vice Chancellor, Siddarth University, UP, Dr. Geetanjali Andotra, Dr Rajinder Singh, Dr.Romesh Gupta, Principals of constituent colleges, Dr. Chander Shekhar, Dr. Mohd. Zubair, Dr. Monicka Sharma, Deans of Cluster university of Jammu were joined via online by Dr. Munir Ahmed Mir, Dr. GM Lone, Dr. Nighat Nasreen, Dr Raif Ahmad Khan, Deans of Cluster University of Srinagar, Dr. RK Mittal, Vice Chancellor, BBA University, Lucknow. Ms. Ankur Mahajan, Registrar of the University presented the items for discussion and approval. At the outset, Prof KS Chandrasekar outlined the activities of the University since the last syndicate, the approvals received from AICTE and NCTE for programmes, Mega job fair conducted by the University, Revision of PG syllabus, Completion of the syllabus for the 7th and 8th semester for UG 4th year program. The Syndicate approved action taken by the Vice Chancellor on many items. The revised reservation rules of J&K for UG PG admissions, PhD admissions were also approved. The major decision includes evaluation of all answer sheets of end semester examinations based on coding and evaluation by eligible evaluators from the panel approved by the Controller of Examinations. The syndicate also approved the one time exemption to the students who had credit shortage below 50% for seeking admission in UG General/ Honours/ PG integrated 5th semester. The adoption of NET as an entrance test for admission to Ph.D. programme was considered. The Syndicate also approved starting of various programmes like MPA, PG Diploma, Diploma and Certificate in Dogri translation, M Sc Geography and 1 year PG programmes. Notable decision include the recognition of eligible college faculty as Ph.D. supervisors and collaboration with other institutions to implement the fourth year of FYUGP as per NEP 2020. Prof KS Chandrasekar mentioned that NEP 2020 has been successfully implemented in Cluster University of Jammu and opportunities will be provided for research and project works for 4th year Honours degree. Dual degree programmes were approved from 2025-26. The Syndicate deliberated in detail on the provision for mercy chances for the 2017, 2018 and 2019 batches and approved the conduct of the same. It was further decided to consider starting M Sc (Entrepreneurship) in association with EDII, Ahmedabad, BSc (Nursing), English as minor, Statistics as Major, Minor and Multidisciplinary course at GGM Science College. The syndicate also authorised the Vice Chancellor to coopt senior faculty members of colleges into various University positions to ensure extension, outreach, consulting etc. CLUJET to be reintroduced from 2206-27. Before this meeting, the 5th finance committee met in the forenoon, under the chairmanship of Prof KS Chandrasekar, Vice Chancellor and others.
