GDC Ramnagar organises summer internship

RAMNAGAR, July 4: The Summer Internship Cell of Government Degree College Ramnagar, in collaboration with the Career Counselling and Placement Cell, organized a Summer Internship Allotment cum Orientation Program for the newly admitted students of UG Semester 5th (NEP), Session 2025-26. The event was conducted under the overall guidance and patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, Principal, GDC Ramnagar.
The program aimed at orienting students about the significance of internships under the National Education Policy (NEP) and allotting them suitable internship opportunities as part of their academic curriculum.
Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Coordinator of the Summer Internship Program and Convenor of the Career Counseling and Placement Cell, led the session and provided valuable insights into the structure, objectives, and learning outcomes of the internships. He elaborated on the diverse range of internship opportunities available to the students, highlighting how these experiences would help them build practical skills and industry readiness. The students were made aware about the nitty-gritties of the different internships with different agencies and also a standard modus-operandi that they would be following.
On this occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, Principal of the college emphasized the importance of internships as a bridge between academic knowledge and practical experience. He encouraged students to actively participate in their assigned internships with sincerity and dedication, as these opportunities would play a vital role in shaping their future careers. He appreciated the efforts of the organizing team for initiating such meaningful academic engagements.
It's pertinent to mention here that this year the students are being sent to pursue internships with Media, Bar Council Ramnagar, Social Welfare Department Ramnagar, Forest Department Ramnagar and INTACH Jammu and Kashmir.
The event witnessed the gracious presence of esteemed faculty members including Prof. Sumita Rao, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Prof. Jatinder Lal, Prof. Parminder Kumar, and Prof. Sanjay Malhotra, who played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of the program. Their guidance and support added immense value to the orientation.
The initiative received appreciation from both students and faculty members for promoting experiential learning and bridging the gap between academics and the professional world. The program concluded on a positive note with an interactive Q&A session and a vote of thanks by Prof. Sumita Rao.
