| Drug peddlers nabbed by police, vehicle seized | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 4: Nowabad police apprehended one drug peddler and recovered 05.88 grams of heroin (chitta) like substance. On 02/07/25, the officials of PP Tallab Tillo, while performing naka duty at near Puran Nagar, signalled one vehicle. But the driver of the vehicle tried to fled away. Acting swiftly the police party stopped the vehicle bearing No. JK20B - 7053 driven by a person namely Hashim Ali S/o Mohd Hussain R/o Belivharana. On searching, 5.88 grams of heroine like substance was recovered from under the drivers seat. In this connection, case FIR No 92/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act instantly got registered at PS Nowabad and the said accused was remanded to police custody and further investigation is underway to trace the source and network behind the illegal drug trade. More arrests and recoveries cannot be ruled out. Police team led by PSI Paramjeet Singh IC PP Talab Tillo made the arrest/recovery/seizure under the supervision of Insp. Deepak Pathania SHO Nowabad, Farha Nishat DSP Hqrs. and Vivek Shekhar SP City North Jammu. Jammu police reiterates its firm resolve to eliminate the drug menace from society and appeals to the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
