3-Day Induction Training for newly placed Headmasters of Jammu division concludes

JAMMU, July 4: A three-day Induction Training Programme for 282 newly placed Headmasters of Jammu Division concluded today at Govt. Polytechnic College, Jammu. The programme, held from 2nd to 4th July 2025, was organized by the School Leadership Academy (SLA) of SCERT-J&K,Jammu in collaboration with DIET Jammu, aligning with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The training focused on leadership, pedagogy, inclusivity, and school governance, aiming to build a cadre of empowered school leaders to drive educational transformation at the grassroots level.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Sh. Shantmanu, IAS, Financial Commissioner (ACS), Director, SCERT-J&K .
The event began with a warm and heartfelt welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director, SCERT Jammu Division she reiterated SCERT Jammu's unwavering commitment to empowering both teachers and Heads of Institutions to ensure equitable and quality education. This was followed by the presentation of the detailed report of the program by Monika Dogra. A short documentary capturing the highlights and significant moments of the program was also screened. Participants shared their reflections, expressing appreciation for the enriching learning experience and the engaging, interactive sessions throughout the training.
Joint Director (Central), JKSCERT, Shailesh Kumari, while addressing the gathering stressed on fostering inclusive, accountable, and context-sensitive school ecosystems.
During his address Sh. Shantmanu, IAS, congratulated the newly promoted HOIs and applauded their leadership journey. He emphasized the importance of ethical leadership, inclusive practices, and community engagement in shaping the future of school education. The Director urged them to be visionary and proactive in implementing NEP 2020 reforms .
The three day program featured insightful and engaging sessions from eminent educationists and experts on diverse and critical topics viz thought-provoking session on pedagogical leadership by Dr. J N Baliya, motivational strategies by Col. Arun Gupta, visionary leadership by Dr. Atul Hans, fostering positive school culture by Dr. Rajinder Kour, and practical orientation on the GeM Portal by Sh. Dheeraj Jandiyal. Other highlights included expert talks on community partnerships by Prof. Zubair Kales, school development planning by Dr. Kunal Anand, inclusivity and equity by Dr. Rohnika Sharma, financial guidelines by Ms. Monika Bhandari (JKAS), Lochan Dass, NEP 2020 insights by Ms. Manu Vasudeva, and perspectives on school leadership shared by Ms. Manisha Chun and Mr. Parshotam Singh. The sessions were chaired and moderated by senior SCERT faculty members ensuring rich academic discourse and practical takeaways.
Memento was presented to the Chief Guest as a mark of respect. Certificates were distributed among all the participants , resource persons, Chairpersons and members of the organizing team.
The formal vote of thanks was delivered by Parshotam Singh, Coordinator of the program.
