| Campaigning ends for Anantnag Lok Sabha seat | | 3 Election Observers, 160 Micro Observers to ensure free, fair poll on Apr 30 | | Early Times report Srinagar, Apr 28- The campaigning for Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency, which is going to polls on Thursday in the third phase of five-phased Lok Sabha elections in the State, ended today. Anantnag Constituency is the first constituency going to polls in Kashmir division. Voting for Srinagar Constituency will take place in fourth phase on May 7 while as for Baramulla and Ladakh Parliamentary constituencies will go to polls on May 13 the fifth and final phase of elections. Over 11.65 lakh voters will decide fate of 13 contestants, spread over 16 Assembly segments of Anantnag Parliamentary constituency on April 30. Voting for Jammu and Udhampur Parliamentary seats were held on April 16 and 23 respectively in the first and second phases, earlier. Several national and state leaders have campaigned across the constituency with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Union Minister for Water Resources Prof. Saifuddin Soz, General Secretary, AICC, Rahul Gandhi, former Chief Ministers, Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and MoS in Prime Minister’s Office, Prithviraj Chavan addressing big public meetings. The Election Commission of India has appointed three Election Observers and 160 Micro Observers in the four districts of Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Anantnag to ensure free, fair and transparent elections in the south Kashmir constituency. Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency is the largest in terms of electorate, number of districts as well as Assembly segments in the Kashmir division.
