| Bhim demands re-polling in Udhampur constituency | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 28-Demanding re-polling in Udhampur Parliamentary constituency which went to polls on April 16, Prof Bhim Singh, Chairman of JKNPP has alleged large scale rigging and bogus voting by the coalition government. He said the poll percentage which was just 30 per cent was raised by bogus voters and rigging by Congress and BJP. In a statement issued here today Prof Singh alleged that the ‘loyalist’ presiding officer did not allow voters to cast their votes on the false pretext. Over 200 voters were thrown out in Polling Station Noo.1 and 2 in Udhampur Assembly segment only because they were not having voters’ cards, he added. Similarly, in Banihal the government employees captured several polling stations. Although the Election Commission was timely informed about these malpractices but it did not think it proper to intervene, he said adding that both the Congress and National Conference misused their administration and state exchequer for campaigning in the Lok Sabha election. The JKNPP Chairman appealed to the party rank and file to rush to Baramulla Lok Sabha Constituency to ensure the victory of the party candidate, Mohammed Iqbal Jan, presently detained in Tihar Jail, Delhi in a false case. Iqbal Jan is a Science Graduate from Kashmir University, a sportsman and a nationalist to the core, he said and added that he (Jan) had contested election to the Assembly from Bandipora also and got 1900 votes. His filing nomination papers to the Lok Sabha by swearing in the name of the Indian Constitution is a great message of the Panthers Party to the youth of Kashmir that the people of Kashmir are not against India, their fight is against the draconian and authoritarian rule of Srinagar and Delhi, he said.
