| NC leaders seek KP’s votes | | PDP pursuing politics of deceit, alleges Gupta | | Early Times report
Jammu Apr 28- National Conference is committed to create a political and social environment in the Valley to encourage the Kashmiri migrants to return and settle permanently at their place of birth with dignity, said Rattan Lal Gupta Provincial President J&K National Conference, Jammu province while addressing a public meeting at Sarwaswati Vihar Bohri here today .He was accompanied by Vijay Bakaya, MLC. Lambasting PDP for having developed a habit of ''befooling'' the masses, Gupta said Mufti’s role in 1984, the imposition of Governor Jagmohan on the people of Kashmir, massacre of innocent people thereafter and an era of use of brutal force on the people of Kashmir during Mufti’s tenure as Home Minister, is an open book for the people of the state who can read PDP politics of deceit perpetuated by the party on the people of the state.
He said it was Dr. Farooq Abdullah who submitted his resignation from the Chief Ministership under protest in the January 1990 on the grounds that Centre government and the then Home Minister Mufti Mohammed Mohammad Sayeed were adamant to sent Jagmohan again as Governor of the state. “What Jagmohan did in the state on the behest and guidance of Mufti Mohammed Sayeed is an open book for all and needs no explanation”, Gupta added.
He said time and again the PDP and its leadership raise different issues just to divert the attention of the masses and to hide their misdeeds and mis-governance. Gupta said PDP leadership has always deceived the people of Jammu and Kashmir right from the day it came into existence and now it mortgaged its conscious to the BJP’s ideology and joined hands with them. He said it is sad that PDP has always compromised the interests of the people of the state for the petty political and personal gains.
He appealed the Kashmiri Pandits to cast their vote in favour of National Conference – Congress coalition candidates during the current parliamentary elections and said that their vote in favour of coalition candidates shall be the vote for peace, progress and prosperity of the state.
Addressing the gathering Vijay Bakaya MLC appreciated the role of Rattan Lal Gupta as Provincial President in making National Conference cadre strong and effective. He while highlighting the problems being faced by Kashmiri Migrants since last twenty years also appreciated the role of National Conference in showing concern to solve these problems. He appealed the migrants living in Jammu, Udhampur and elsewhere to cast their votes to make migrant community politically strong. He said that political empowerment of KP migrant community will make government to consider on priority to get their genuine and legitimate problems solved.
The Kashmiri leaders, who were present on the occasion, assured that the community will wholeheartedly and overwhelmingly support the NC-Congress coalition candidates.
