GURDASPUR, July 6: Sardar Beant Singh State University, Gurdaspur, proudly joined the nationwide observance of Van Mahotsav, the Festival of Trees, by organizing a tree plantation drive near the University Auditorium Building. This initiative aimed to spread awareness about the vital role of trees in preserving ecological balance, combating climate change, and sustaining life on Earth. The drive was inaugurated by Honourable Vice-Chancellor Dr. S.K. Misra, who, in his address, highlighted the critical importance of forests and green cover in ensuring a sustainable and climate-resilient future.
