Early Times Report JAMMU, July 6: Under the ongoing drive against bovine smuggling,Operation Kamdhenu, Jammu Police has successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines in the Nagrota Sub-Division. Acting on a tip-off, a team from Police Post Sidhra intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AL/2195, which was found to be illegally transporting 31 bovine animals. The animals were found tied cruelly with ropes, without access to grass or water, and were being transported towards Srinagar without the mandatory permission from the District Magistrate. The driver of the vehicle managed to flee from the scene. The police have seized the vehicle and rescued all 31 bovines. In this regard, a case has been registered at Police Station Nagrota under FIR No. 146/2025, U/S 223/11 of the PCA Act, and further investigation is currently underway. The general public has appreciated the strict and consistent actions taken by Jammu Police against bovine smuggling. |
