Early Times Report

Jammu, July 6: The Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha (JCMS) continues its noble tradition of Langer Sewa on the 6th day, serving pilgrims visiting for the Shri Amar Nath Yatra. Led by Sh. Romesh Chander Gupta, President of JCMS, and supported by a dedicated team including Sh. Arun Gupta, President CCI, and other esteemed members, the Sabha provided free food (Langer) to over 1600 pilgrims today at their premises on Shalimar Road, Jammu.
The Langer Sewa, initiated by Sh. Jangi Lal Mahajan, President of Akhil Bhartiya Mahajan Shiromani Sabha and MLA Mukerian (Pb.), aims to embody the spirit of service and inclusivity. Regardless of caste, creed, community, region, or religion, all pilgrims were welcomed and served with utmost hospitality. Additionally, the Sabha facilitated the registration of 1400 pilgrims for the holy yatra within its premises.
Sh. Jangi Lal Mahajan emphasized that service to humanity is a form of worship, praising the sincere efforts of JCMS under the leadership of Sh. Romesh Chander Gupta. He expressed confidence that with the blessings of Bholenath, this Langer Sewa will continue to support pilgrims until the conclusion of the annual Shri Baba Barfani Yatra.
He commended the Mahajan Biradari for their exemplary arrangements and the provision of free Langer Sewa, acknowledging the leadership of Sh. Romesh Chander Gupta and his dedicated team.
He highlighted the selfless contributions of the community in ensuring the comfort and well-being of all pilgrims.
In his address, Romesh Chander Gupta, President of JCMS, expressed gratitude to all dignitaries and community members for their unwavering support. He underscored the significance of “Annadana, also known as Annadhanam” is the act of donating food, particularly to those in need, and is considered a highly meritorious and virtuous act in Hindu tradition, stating that providing food has no parallel in service. He noted, “If worse comes to worst, a human being can survive without clothes and shelter, but not without food.”
Today’s Langer was efficiently managed by Subash Gupta, Vice President of JCMS, and his family members, showcasing the collaborative effort and dedication of the entire community.
