SOLAN, July 7: It is a matter of great pride that Capt. AJ Singh, Executive Director of Pinegrove School, Distt. Solan, HP has been unanimously elected as the President of the Boarding Schools' Association of India (BSAI) for the years 2025-2027.
The pronouncement came during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the BSAI, held at The Doon School, Dehradun, marking a significant milestone in residential school leadership in India.
Capt. AJ Singh, a stalwart in the field of education and brings with him an illustrious legacy of visionary leadership and transformative impact in residential school education.
As the Founder Headmaster of Pinegrove School, a full boarding School in Himachal Pradesh, he has consistently set exemplary benchmarks in academic excellence, holistic development, and value-based education. His pioneering work has not only elevated institutional standards but also inspired a whole generation of educators across the country.
Capt. AJ Singh, is a nationally revered educationist and brings with him a legacy of distinguished service and transformative leadership.
He was elected as the Chairman of the Indian Public Schools' Conference (IPSC) in 2018, and served as Vice-President of BSAI from 2021-25. He also served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) from 2019-22, and is currently a nominated member of the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE). He was also a recipient of Himachal Pradesh's highest civilian honour 'Prerna Srot Samman', conferred by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of HP, Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, on the 75th (Platinum Jubilee) Celebrations of Himachal Pradesh in 2023.
An alumnus of prestigious institutions such as The Lawrence School, Sanawar, NDA, IMA, JNU, PU, MDU and College of Materials Management, Jabalpur, Capt. Singh is renowned for championing sustainability, curriculum innovation, morality and discipline in school education. Capt. Singh has played a pivotal role in shaping educational policy and enhancing academic standards at both national and state level.
With his appointment as President of BSAI, a new chapter begins-marked by inclusivity and innovation in residential school education, across India.
Capt. AJ Singh's vision is expected to steer the sixty-three boarding schools of the association towards a more collaborative, future-ready and globally competent educational landscape and help residential schools, across the country, to improve their functionality and systems.
Along with Capt. Singh, Mr. Rashid Sarfuddin, Principal of Kasiga School, was elected Vice President; Mr. Jagpreet Singh, Headmaster of The Doon School, was elected Secretary; and Mrs. Sangeeta Kain, Principal of Welham Boys' School, Dehradun, was elected Treasurer.
The appointment of Capt. Singh as President of BSAI, is an immense pride for Pinegrove School in particular and for the State of HP, in general.
