| One more DMU in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Apr 28- As the number of passengers opting to travel through the rail plying on the 119 Kilometer Anantnag-Baramulla link is increasing with every passing day, the Northern Railway has inducted one more DMU for operation from May one, taking the number of units in service to three on the 119-km newly laid track. A DMU (Diesel Machine Unit) was taken to the valley on a trawler by the railway engineering wing last Thursday. The test run of the coaches manufactured at Chennai Integral Coach Factory was carried out successfully. The new coach will start services on May 1. Two DMUs are in operation now, which include five engines and 23 coaches. There are nine railway stations in the 119-km Qazigund- Baramulla sector of Kashmir rail section. The rail has become an instant hit after it was commissioned in October last.
