The initiative was spearheaded by the Departments of English and Hindi in close collaboration with the INTACH Jammu Chapter, under the visionary leadership of Principal Dr. Pragya Khanna. The project brought together 35 students and 10 faculty members who engaged in hands-on cultural mapping, documentation of heritage sites, and experiential learning through guided heritage walks. The project aimed to reconnect the younger generation with the region's rich history, traditions, and architecture, instilling a deeper appreciation for heritage preservation. As part of the exercise, participants identified and documented local historical landmarks, oral histories, traditional practices, and cultural expressions specific to Hiranagar. Dr. Pragya Khanna, Principal of the College, expressed her pride in the recognition, stating, "This feature in INTACH VIRASAT not only highlights the potential of academic institutions in grassroots heritage conservation but also reinforces the importance of experiential learning.
