Early Times Report JAMMU, July 8: In a remarkable demonstration of efficiency and dedication, the Jammu Police has successfully restored Rs 62 lakhs to Mir Firasath Ali Khan, a complainant from Hyderabad, who fell victim to cheating and fraud in Jammu. The case, investigated by SDPO Bakshi Nagar, Dr. Satish Bhardwaj JKPS, under the supervision of SSP Jammu and SP South highlights the commitment of the Jammu Police to justice and victim-centric approach. The complainant, Mir Firasath Ali Khan, had approached Police Station Bahu Fort, alleging that certain individuals from Jammu were attempting to sell him fake diamonds in the guise of renowned Kashmir Blue Sapphires. An FIR was registered, and the investigation revealed a larger conspiracy involving Mohammed Rayaz s/o Reham Ali R/O Gurdan Bala Rajouri A/P Chinor Jammu and Mohammed Taj Khan S/O Haji Jumma Khan R/O Potha Surankot Poonch, A/P Meenia Mohalla Trikuta Nagar along with their associates, who had duped the complainant of Rs 3 crore and were attempting to sell him fake Kashmir Blue Sapphires for Rs 25 crore. During the investigation, the IO seized numerous fake Kashmir Sapphire necklaces from the accused's possession and recovered Rs 62,00,000 from Mohammed Rayaz and his associates. The Honorable Court subsequently released the seized money in favor of the complainant. The complainant has expressed his gratitude to the Jammu Police, particularly SSP Jammu, Sh. Joginder Singh, SP South, Ajay Sharma, and SDPO Bakshi Nagar, Dr. Satish Bhardwaj JKPS, for their professionalism and dedication in recovering his hard-earned money. Furthermore, the IO has identified the property acquired by the accused using the proceeds of crime and has approached the Honorable Court to proceed with attachment under Section 107 BNSS, a new clause introduced to make the criminal laws more victim-centric. This section empowers the court to attach and forfeit the said property to restore the cheated amount to the complainant.
