Jammu, April 29: Claiming that Congress government would bring peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir if voted to power , Senior Congress leader and AICC Member Ghulam Nabi Mir Lasjan has asked to people of state to vote and support NC-Cong candidates in valley Lokh Sabha seats and ensure their victory for the welfare of Nation and State.
He said that his party had already demonstrated its resolve to bring both peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir during its short tenure in the previous state government and now both the coalition partners after taking reins of the state has decided to work for betterment of masses by providing political and economic stability in the state.
He further said that the performance of Congress party could well be assessed by the fact that apart from developing the state by way of providing educational, medical, water supply and road connectivity facilities even in remote areas of state, it proved its seriousness in providing bread and butter to thousands of educated unemployed youth of the state.
He said that since his party took the reigns in 2005, the people of the state heaved a sigh of relief as there was a significant change in the situation, which paved the way for progress and development.
Congress is committed to tackle terrorism across the country as it has done in the past even at the cost of its great leaders like Indira Gandhi and Rajeev Gandhi, he said and added that if Congress voted to power at the centre, the state would get all possible help from the centre as assured by the Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi during his recent tour.
He further said that the people of state should keep in mind the performance of UPA government towards development and progress and support it for better future of the state.
Appealing voters of Anantnag parliamentary constituency to cast their vote in favour of the coalition NC-Congress candidate Dr.Mehboob Beig, he said that his victory could strengthen return of UPA government in the centre.
