Prompt action by police, shrine board rescues pilgrim

REASI, July 9: In a swift and courageous rescue operation, District Police Reasi and the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board today successfully saved the life of a pilgrim who had slipped into the Ban Ganga river near Katra.
The individual, identified as Indradev Sah S/O Sito Shah R/O Karawal Nagar, North East Delhi, reportedly lost his balance and fell into the fast-flowing Ban Ganga stream, becoming trapped between rocks.
Upon receiving the distress information, a joint rescue team of Police Post Ban Ganga and Shrine Board officials immediately rushed to the location. Displaying exceptional coordination and bravery, the team managed to safely rescue the pilgrim from the dangerous waters. The individual was pulled out without sustaining any major injuries.
The entire operation was conducted under the leadership of SHO P/S Katra Insp. Khyatimaan Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey, JKPS and SP Katra Vipan Chandran-JKPS.
While sharing the details, SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh-JKPS reiterated that District Police Reasi commends the alertness, promptness and dedication of the police personnel and Shrine Board staff involved in this successful life-saving effort. The incident once again highlights the commitment of District Police Reasi to ensuring the safety and well-being of all pilgrims and residents in the District.
